Aetna Dental Insurance Coverage

Man talking to dentist in dental chair Did you know the number one reason patients give for avoiding their dental appointments isn’t phobia or even lack of time? The main reason people forego necessary dentistry services is that they don’t think they can afford their care. At the Lenexa dental office of Dennis C. Ayer, DDS, we offer affordable preventive, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry services, and our knowledgeable team works with patients to fit dental care into their budgets. Most importantly, we take the time to outline the costs of your treatments and help you plan for payment, so you’re never blindsided by unexpected fees. One way that we help patients fit the cost of care into their budgets is processing and filing dental insurance claims. Our team members work with insurers on a daily basis, so we can help you make the most of your insurance investment. In addition to filing claims for most providers, we are also happy to provide in-network coverage for a variety of insurers, including Aetna. If you’re an Aetna dental insurance patient or you want to find out more about your dental insurance coverage, give Dr. Ayer and his caring Lenexa dentistry team a call to schedule your appointment with us today. We’ll be happy to review your dental insurance policy, answer any questions you have, and help you fit the cost of dental care into your budget.

Your Aetna Dental Plan

Dental insurance forms Every patient’s plan represents a unique contract between the patient, their employer, and Aetna. When choosing benefit plans for employees, your employer will be able to select from a range of benefit packages that include varying degrees of insurance coverage. When it comes time to elect your dental coverage, you will likely also have the opportunity to choose between plans. This can be understandably confusing. Our team will review your policy in order to provide accurate estimates of the out of pocket costs of any treatment plan before we get started. If you ever have questions about your insurance policy, please don’t hesitate to ask our team for help.

Maximizing Insurance Benefits

When patients keep up with their regular dental checkups and teeth cleanings and invest the necessary time to care for their smiles at home, they significantly reduce their risk for oral health concerns. In addition to being the right choice for your smile, preventive care is also the easiest way to maximize your insurance coverage. Preventive dentistry services typically receive between 80% and 100% coverage from Aetna benefit plans, and preventive treatments reduce risk for more advanced oral health concerns that require treatments that receive lower benefit percentages.

In-Network VS Out of Network Coverage

Woman checking in at reception desk As an in-network provider for Aetna plans, we have an agreement with this insurer to offer our dentistry services as the fair and average pricing they outline for services. That means you will only need to pay the out of pocket percentage of treatment costs. Out of network dentists do not have these contracts, and they can charge fees higher than those outlined by Aetna. You will need to pay the difference in price as well as your out of pocket percentage of the cost of treatment. In most cases, this difference in price is minimal, but in-network care means you don’t need to worry about paying any additional fees.
